Hello all
Unfortunately i cannot make the ozu seminar this november

But i hope to visit next year no matter what

The idea is to spend a week doing jikiden and a week doing niten.
Iwami soke is available pretty much all year round now
So can anyone advise on a good time to visit Iwata sensei?

Whats the likelyhood of there being a March seminar do you think?

I didn't even know there was an Ozu seminar this november...

If you're thinking about going to see Iwata sensei outside of an organized seminar then I would recommend getting someone who is in contact with Yuriko (Tim?) to make your intentions known and clear it with Iwata sensei. This should be the same with any teacher you plan to visit really, please don't just turn up at their dojo / doorstep and expect them to teach you.

March is a possibility, but likely to be in Kyoto. Given Iwata sensei's age,(97!) it will not surprise you that he has good and bad days, so we are careful about when we go and see him. Nishimoto sensei usually rings up and sees how he is, then will do a short visit saying he was in the neighbourhood and is popping in for a cup of tea and a chat....
I suggest we broach this subject in september and see how it goes.

Kyoto is only 30 minutes by train from Osaka (kansai airport)? This is a lot better, and cheaper, option than 6 hours or whatever on a coach or 3 - 4 hours on trains down to Ozu on Shikoku.

Might be tempted to go myself assuming I know for sure it's going ahead in time to do something about it...
